For our final project, student groups were tasked with designing a garment for a specific target market. Our group was given childrenswear and tasked with creating an XS-XL size run of our garment. We chose to create a girls dress with a peter pan color and button closure in the back. The base pattern was created through Gerber CAD pattern making software and graded for the size run. We continued to use Gerber to create markers for the bodice, sleeves, collar, and collar facings. Our markers were sent to the Lectra fabric cutter to cut all of the pattern pieces. We utilized the Lectra cutter to maximize our fabric conservation. Finally, each group member constructed a different size of garment. All components of the project were then combined into a final tech pack which was then presented.
