FTM 271: Introduction to various software applications used to conceive and present textile designs for interiors and fashion. Fundamental skills reinforced in textile design skills such as repeat pattern development, color, and visual presentation based on the trend research and design collection plan. Introduction to utilizing software tools for design, texture mapping and creating flat garment designs. This course covered special CAD software including EAT, KALEDO, and Adobe Suite. Throughout the course of the semester students were tasked with creating a CAD portfolio for textile design.
The Roaring 20s designs are all original concepts personally created utilizing Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Gerber Accumark, and Lectra. My design inspirations included the significant icons and motifs of the era I looked to rich colors with hints of sparkle to capture the essence of such a glamorous and carefree era in fashion history.
